Techno-Environmental Analysis of the Use of Green Hydrogen for Cogeneration from the Gasification of Wood and Fuel Cell

This paper aims to evaluate the use of wood biomass in a gasifier integrated with fuel cell system as low carbon technology. Experimental information is provided by literature. The syngas purified using pressure swing adsorption (PSA) order obtain H2 99.99% purity. Using 132 kg/h wood, it possible generate 10.57 that used tubular solid oxide (TSOFC). Then, TSOFC generates 197.92 kW. heat generated produces 60 steam needed gasifier. net efficiency considering only electric power 27.2%, which lower than gas turbine same capacity where around 33.1%. It concluded there great potential for cogeneration emission rural areas developing countries e.g., intensity 98.35 kgCO2/MWh when compared those natural combined cycle (NGCC) without and CO2 capture i.e., 331 40 kgCO2/MWh, respectively. an alternative technology places abundant difficult get electricity from grid due limits geographical location.
